MEC Chairperson Resignation Information, Fake

In a Press Release seen by Khulubvi Post, the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is informing the public and all stakeholders that a message currently circulating on social media and other platforms, alleging that the MEC Chairperson, Justice Annabel Mtalimanja, has resigned, is completely false and should be disregarded in its entirety.
The Director of Media and Public Relations, Sangwani Mwafulirwa categorically states that the Malawi Electoral Commission MEC Chairperson remains fully committed to her role and continues to discharge her duties in line with her constitutional mandate. There has been no resignation, and no such development has occurred within the Commission.
The Commission strongly urges members of the public and all electoral stakeholders to desist from fabricating, sharing, or amplifying false information, especially during this crucial period of electoral preparations.
He further says that the dissemination of fake news not only misleads the public but also undermines confidence in the electoral process and the integrity of democratic institutions.
MEC encourages all recipients of this message to verify any election-related information through official MEC communication channels, including our website, press statements, and verified social media accounts.
